Swansea Muslim Youth League (SMYLe) and IslamWales.com would like to convey the warmest greetings of the festival period to everyone in South Wales.
Muslims, Christians and Jews share a common heritage through Prophet Ibrahim/Abraham (peace be upon him) and the holiday season serves to reinforce the idea that we are more similar than different in the common values we hold dear.
This year the holiday season will coincide with the Hajj pilgrimage and the Muslim celebration of Eid al Adha. This celebration marks the occasion where, according to Muslim tradition, Prophet Abraham, the common forefather of all three great monotheistic faiths, was asked by God to sacrifice his son as a sign of his commitment to God.
In Wales, this year's Eid al Adha is taking place on Wednesday 19th December. As part of the festive celebrations, SMYLe and IslamWales.com have re-launched the website IslamWales.com, Wales’ leading Muslim community website with a new contemporary look and feel. The new design was developed after consultation and feedback from its users to create a much more enjoyable experience. The new site not only looks great but because it’s been engineered with web accessibility standards in mind; finding information and navigating through the site should now be much easier. Please continue forwarding and posting your comments on how you feel about the new IslamWales.com and what new features you would like to see.
